Life Navigation Workshops

  • Do you say “yes” to everything, then end up overwhelmed by all you have to do?
  • Do you say “no” to everything, then end up feeling like you are missing out on life?
  • Are your resources stretched too thin?
  • Do you have a project that seems to be stuck?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, these workshops are for you!

Workshop 1: The Compass

In this 3.5 hour workshop you will:

  • Develop a compass to guide your life
  • Create a visual display of your compass
  • Review your life through the lens of your new compass
  • Create a new context for navigating your life!

A compass is a great tool for navigating.  A life compass gives you guidance when opportunities arise.  Instead of automatically saying yes, or automatically saying no, take a look at it from a different view.  Is this opportunity aligned with my compass and what I want for my life?  If it is, then consider saying yes to the opportunity.  If it is not, then it is a straight-forward no.  What about those things you are already committed to?  You can reassess them with your compass.  We'll discuss how that works, and more.

Workshop 2: The Navigation Map

In this 3.5 hour workshop you will:

  • Discover an integrated approach to looking at any area of your life
  • Learn new ways to optimize your resources
  • Create a navigation map to launch or optimize an area of your life or a project of interest

The navigation map is based on the Connection Map technology, altered from the Team approach to focus in on connecting a focus area to all other areas of your life.  Once you can see the connections, you can make better use of them and of your resources.  We'll also look at new actions you can take and new ways to view this aspect of your life.

What others are saying about Life Navigation:

"I think your work is inspiring.  Keep it going.  If you remember Bob Ross, the artist that taught painting techniques on T.V., "Paint your world" was his quote.  You are helping people paint their world in their own colors with "Word".  Yea!"

"The Compass exercise in particular has been tremendously valuable.  It has brought me a level of clarity that I have been seeking for some time.  I am now evaluating all of my activities and accountabilities, both present and future, with reference to it."

"I enjoyed the small, intimate, safe environment...Your professionalism in keeping us focused, on-track and engaged was excellent.  You have a gift at leading folks to see things in a new and different frame."

One gentleman discovered why he hasn't been dating - although being in a relationship fits in his compass, the dating process does not!  He discovered that it is okay not to pursue dating, and if he does choose to, he can alter his dating process to align with his compass.

Another gentleman discovered why he was not working on a project he had developed.  Although it fit loosely in his compass, there were other factors that were holding him back.  With a quick restructuring of the project, he was able to have it work.

One woman in the workshop gained clarity on job prospects.  Through her compass she could see that one of the job opportunities would not be aligned, and she could see how a second opportunity would fit better within all aspects of her compass.

Another woman discovered why she says "yes" to so many things - she is trying to gain admiration.  With that discovery, she can now ask that question of herself, "Am I only saying yes to gain admiration?", during her decision-making process.  Others have added questions such as, "Am I saying yes or no out of obligation?"  "How does this fit with my other commitments?" or "What is the value for the time/money it takes?"
